In 1847, a stand of coffee trees were brought across the border from Guatemala and planted in Motozintla, Mexico, in the southern state of Chiapas. Ever since, farmers in this region have been using traditional methods of producing and processing their coffee. Each individual farm controls the production of each cherry: from the planting of the seeds to the drying of the coffee. Using nature to optimize their farming practices, Motozintla farmers are known for their tradition of taking their cherries to the roofs of their homes for drying. Motozintla is known for its healthy and distinctive volcanic soil that provides their coffee with a distinct taste profile and excellent quality.

We are proud to source a portion of our beans from a collaborative of almost 500 small farmers in Motozintla, Mexico. We invite you to enjoy the full-bodied flavors of their coffee in each of our distinct varieties available both as whole bean and ground.
